Mainz acquires Rasmussen on loan from Celtic

08/19/2010 - Mainz, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Mainz signed Celtic striker Morten Rasmussen to a one-year loan deal Thursday, with an option to buy the 25-year-old Danish international.

Rasmussen previously played for Aarhus and Brondby in Denmark before joining Celtic in January of this year. He had two goals in 10 matches for Celtic.

"Morten Rasmussen is a player with a great presence on the pitch. He always makes himself available and poses a huge scoring threat as well" said Mainz Sporting Director Christian Heidel.

If Mainz buys Rasmussen at the end of the loan deal, he will be signed on a contract through the 2013-14 season. He has played three times for Denmark.
