08/07/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Baltimore Orioles have come alive under new manager Buck Showalter and take aim at their season-high fifth win in a row tonight in the continuation of a four-game series with the Chicago White Sox from Camden Yards.

After sweeping the Angels in Showalter's debut earlier this week, the Orioles continued their run with a 2-1 win over the White Sox in 10 innings on Friday.

Adam Jones punched a two-out single through the left side of the infield to bring in the winning run in the 10th. It was the club's second straight walk- off win after Cesar Izturis' base hit in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday capped a three-game sweep of the Angels.

Tony Pena (3-2), in his third inning of relief, gave up a pair of singles to Nick Markakis and Luke Scott in the 10th to leave runners at the corners and Jones placed a base hit between third and short to hand Baltimore its fourth straight win.

"So far so good, the guys are playing hard and getting some return for it. I'm happy for them," said Showalter.

Alfredo Simon (3-2) pitched the final two innings to get the win for Baltimore, which got seven stellar innings from Brad Bergesen. He let in a run on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

"When you pitch the way they pitched against us...you win games. They continue to pitch like that, they'll win games," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen remarked of the Oriole pitching.

Similarly, Chicago starter John Danks went seven frames and gave up a run on six hits while fanning five without issuing a walk.

Gordon Beckham hit a solo home run and doubled for the White Sox, who came into the opener of this series having won nine of its last 11 contests.

Chicago will look to bounce back behind Gavin Floyd, who has been outstanding since a slow start to the season. The right-hander has not surrendered more than one earned run in six straight starts and is 5-2 with a 1.06 ERA over his last 11 outings.

On Sunday, Floyd allowed just one earned run and four hits over seven innings of a 4-1 triumph over Oakland. He walked three and struck out five.

Floyd has made three lifetime starts against the Orioles, none since 2008, going 1-1 with a 2.53 ERA.

Kevin Millwood gets the call for the Orioles and he is looking to end a personal three-game slide. In Sunday's 5-4 defeat to the Royals, Millwood surrendered five earned runs and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. The veteran right-hander has now allowed at least five runs in five consecutive starts and is 2-7 with an 8.84 ERA over his last 11 outings.

In 10 career starts against the White Sox, Millwood is just 1-5 despite a respectable 3.30 ERA.

The Orioles won five of nine overall meetings with the White Sox last season, including two of three tests held in Baltimore.
