Rangers acquire OF Francoeur from Mets

08/31/2010 - Kansas City, MO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Just prior to the waiver trade deadline, the Texas Rangers bolstered their outfield depth with the acquisition of Jeff Francoeur from the New York Mets.

Francoeur confirmed to reporters after Tuesday's contest in Atlanta that he had been dealt to Texas. Infielder Joaquin Arias went back to the Mets in the trade.

The 26-year-old was in his first full season with the Mets and batted .237 with a .293 on-base percentage in 124 games to go with 11 homers and 54 RBI.

Arias has spent parts of four major league seasons with the Rangers and hit .276 with a .290 on-base percentage to go with nine RBI in 50 games this season.
